Mundane Tasks

Oh inspiration, dear inspiration, wth are you?!
Why'd you leave?!
With you, I was a pink-and-green cloud flying high
in the sky
Now you've flown,
And I feel alone, all alone:
A lonely printing press in a dark corner;
it churns out words by the thousand,
conceived with hope, but they're damned:
Never read but marked, frowned upon...

And I'm just here sitting, typing out words
just one in a colony of duds.

There’s a haiku, which says:
To zokuchi ya
Makazu korona
Powa kosure.

Which, in English, is:
If no inspiration found on earth,
Think it gone to distant planet,
There is air in space.

What d’you think it means?

“A pink-and-green cloud”, eh? Sounds like the northern lights to me. Or the effects of LSD. :P But yeah, there definitely is a lack of colour these days.

If the system demands it, be a printing press.
Strive to be a Gutenberg, though.

Just two days now.

@ the lad:

Pink and green, yes. Little Boxes has pink and green too. I just noticed today. :)

Little Boxes has blue and yellow too, if I'm not mistaken. Well, I can imagine pink boxes and green boxes, but green clouds? Never!

"Pink-and-green cloud",
Is a bit loud,
It's a horribly garish combination too,
Especially against a sky of blue. :)

Oh he thinks he's so cool
Just 'cause he has wiki and google
But let me tell you so:
He's profoundly pseudo.

:P

And turns out there are more people in the world who imagine pink-and-green clouds. If number legitimises a thought, well then, there you go!

But half a human and a ghost?! That too a robot's ghost!

Not really.

parivrajak said...

So wait, are you of the kind that believes in the superiority of the human race to the point of saying anything that's not human is worthless?!

Chee chee. **shakes head**

In this particular case, I will favour whatever makes aesthetic sense, and I don't trust robots when it comes to choosing colours.
And till now, I was of the opinion that you have good taste.

In fact, I don't trust robots one bit, particularly when they come up with gems like:

"We robots will insure mankind's continued existence." (I, Robot)

And follow it up with:
"Robots of the world, you are ordered to exterminate the human race. Do not spare the men. Do not spare the women. Preserve only the factories, railroads, machines, mines, and raw materials. Destroy everything else."
(R.U.R)

But then if robots have ghosts, they may be people after all.
Frightening, innit? Aaaarrgghhh!

PS- Come on! Wiki rocks!

And what happened to the music I recommended? No acknowledgment, no reply?

very well said!!
i was in the process of printing when i read this, so it made a lot of sense. chapna as we call it in hindi.
and it is pissing off to an extent that it won't be read, but just marked. that just takes away the inspiration to work hard. and practically speaking, it is comforting also, you can write whatever crap you want, and still get away with it.
so the inspiration has not flown away, it has been packed and sent off somewhere else.

@the lad:
Well, one thing one could do is to at least have pride in one's creation. And robots are our own. Oh well. :)

@arju:
Oh well. It is here, Arju, that we must try and preserve our integrity and not cog. Easier said than done, ne?

never read but marked..frowned upon..
true because many a times that is the case!!..sad!

@munu:

I know!!! It's really quite sad, bcoz there is a lot of effort that goes into it. But oh well... in the end, we're working for ourselves, to learn. So it doesn't really matter, no?

*finger waggle* :)
